Walking in the Kempen

Je kunt heerlijk wandelen in de Kempen. Er zijn dan ook verschillende wandelroutes door Middelbeers. Stel hieronder je eigen route samen of wandel een uitgestippelde route.

Cycling through the Kempen

There are several cycling routes through Middelbeers. Create your own route below or cycle a mapped out route. Do you like a bit more adventure? Middelbeers and the surrounding area offers a variety of MTB routes for the sporty cyclist.

Landschotse Heide

This area, within walking distance of De Beerze, is characterized by a number of large fens that are rich in water birds and wading birds. It is a beautiful area where you can enjoy walking and enjoying the varied nature. The Landschotse Heide was a training area for the German occupiers during the Second World War. So-called bomb aimers had to practice bombing ships. That is why earthen walls were constructed on the Landschotse Heide, which served as a mock boat with a wooden cabin on top. Some of these ramparts are still there.

Baest estate

The Baest estate is located between Middelbeers and Spoordonk. This area of 380 hectares consists of coniferous and deciduous tree forests, including many monumental trees. There is even a pedunculate oak on the estate that is more than 500 years old! It is a varied nature reserve with, in addition to forests, meadows and water. It is possible for groups to request a tour of the Baest Estate. De Baest also regularly organizes seasonal walks.

Walk the pilgrim path

The name of this path refers to the old pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, although this is more of an association than a reconstruction of a historical route from the Netherlands to that pilgrimage site. However, the route does pass a number of (smaller) pilgrimage sites and other places of religious importance in Brabant and Limburg. Middelbeers is also part of the route.
